Sped up version of songs

Sped up version of songs

Right now, my Spotify is full of sped up remixes. From Steve Lacy who's currently charting non-stop, to Demi Lovato or even Mr. Thundercat who just released a sped up "them changes" out of nowhere. It's definitely an interesting trend in the music world right now.

Sped up version of songs are nothing new to us, we've seen them for years now, whether it's on Youtube, Soundcloud, or even Spotify. Except the fact that they're usually remixed and released by random fans and random producers. But now, they're being officially released by the original artists. It's a trend that was purely created from tiktok, the music app giant. Since sped up versions of songs has been making waves on tiktok for a while now, but now it seems like artists (labels) are starting to pick up on it and are trying to make some banks off of it. Which is something I think they should've done a long time ago if they want to maximize there profits, because these type of remixes have been gaining millions of views/streams for years now. Same thing with the slow+reverb remixes which are incredibly popular on Youtube and Soundcloud so I wouldn't be surprised if artists will start to officially release those type of remixes aswell.

Although personally, I don't like these type of remixes at all, because they barely need any effort to create and most of the time they just don't sound great which ultimately ended up ruining the original song for me. But that's just my personal opinion and I'm sure there are songs that absolutely bangs when sped up but that’s  just my opinion about it as of right now. I just wanted to talk about it because you definitely don't see artists doing this everyday. ☘
